Sun Damage

Sun damage, also known as photoaging, occurs when the skin is overexposed to harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays from the sun. This exposure breaks down collagen and elastin, essential proteins for skin's firmness and elasticity, leading to premature aging signs like wrinkles, fine lines, and sagging skin. Sun damage can also cause hyperpigmentation, dark spots, and uneven skin tone, commonly called "sun spots" or "age spots." Over time, repeated sun exposure increases the risk of more serious skin issues, including skin cancer.
