IPL PHOTOFACIAL

SMOOTH SUCCESS.png

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Photofacial is a laser light treatment that targets pigment issues, such as age spots, redness, spider veins, freckles, sun damage, redness, and Rosacea. The laser light penetrated the epidermis allowing the pigment of the skin to draw out while it rejuvenates new cells and breaking up the uneven pigments.

IPL Photofacial can be applied to the upper body, face, neck, chest, décolleté, shoulder, back, arms as well as legs and feet.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

WHAT IS AN IPL TREATMENT?

An IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) treatment is a broad-spectrum light/heat therapy that delivers gentle pulses of light below the skin’s surface, which provides numerous skin benefits to both women and men.

Some of the benefits of IPL include:

  • Reduce hyperpigmentation and redness

  • Minimize age and sunspots

  • Treat acne or rosacea

  • Diminish fine lines by building collagen

WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW BEFORE MY IPL TREATMENT?

An IPL treatment can’t be performed on skin that is tanned or burned from sun exposure. Also, self-tanners shouldn’t be used two weeks prior to your treatment. You must stop using any vitamin A based skin treatments, such as Retin-A, retinol and the like at least seven days before/after treatments.

If you’re taking any long-term medications, antibiotics or acne treatment medications (e.g., Accutane), please let us know. Certain medications have adverse side effects and we may need to defer your appointment.

Consult your doctor before discontinuing any prescribed medication. Although rare, blistering, slight bleeding and scarring are possible, as are hypopigmentation or hyperpigmentation (lightened or darkened areas of skin, respectively).

WHAT BODY PARTS DO PHOTOFACIALS TYPICALLY TREAT?

The most common areas are face, neck and those exposed to the most sun exposure; upper chest and back, shoulders and hands.

DOES IPL HURT?

Clients range from feeling a warm, tingling sensation to a mild sting, like a rubber band snapping the skin.

HOW LONG IS EACH SESSION?

The treatment typically lasts about 30 minutes, depending on your skincare concerns.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS DO I NEED?

Most patients benefit most from three to five treatments, usually spaced about a month apart.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT AFTER AN IPL TREATMENT?

Unlike other skin resurfacing procedures, there’s no real downtime with IPL. Your skin may be slightly pink or red right after your treatment but should subside a few hours after treatment. Areas being treated for hyperpigmentation (dark spots) will fade and flake off up to one to three weeks after treatment.

WHEN WILL I SEE RESULTS

Visible results can be noticed in as little as one to two treatments. The majority of clients see a significant improvement two to three weeks after the first treatment. The final result may take up to a month. Very large or dark spots, heavily freckled areas or excessively sun-damaged skin may require more treatments.

ARE THE IPL RESULTS PERMANENT?

The skin will always continue to age but IPL treatments help reset the clock. Skincare habits (sun exposure, skincare, etc.) have a big impact on the extent of your results and overall appearance.

WHAT TYPE OF EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE?

The Forma System is a multi-functional device that features four advanced technologies: IPL, Bi-Polar RF, Ultrasonic and Diamond Peeling. This versatile and powerful “All-in-One” platform allows us to offer a wide range of treatment solutions without compromising safety or results.
